The exchange began with a thematic introduction to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In various games, the pupils playfully explored topics such as sustainability, environmental protection and global responsibility. They then worked together in the kitchen: In German-Dutch teams, the young people prepared sandwiches and smoothies and exchanged ideas about sustainable nutrition.
In addition to the joint program, there was also plenty of time for everyday exchanges. The students spent the afternoons and evenings with their host families. The program included joint activities such as swimming, volleyball and bouldering - a great opportunity to get to know each other better and deepen friendships.
A joint day trip was on the agenda on Thursday. The students visited the SpelComputer Museum in Zwolle and immersed themselves in the history of video games. They were able to try out many classic and modern games, which generated a lot of enthusiasm. The group then went on to the city center of Zwolle, where they were able to get to know the atmosphere of the historic city during a city tour.
Friday was once again all about sustainability and teamwork. Together, the students built small insect hotels to contribute to the protection of insects and biodiversity. The school animals, which are looked after by the students, were also introduced and showed how closely theory and practice are linked at Zone College.
The exchange was once again a complete success: in addition to exciting activities, many new memories and friendships were made. The Euregio Comprehensive School and Zone College Almelo are looking forward to the return visit in May and to continuing their partnership in the future - true to the motto: "Samenwerken geeft energie - partnership gives energy."
