FabLab during the lunch break - creative workshop with high-tech machines

The aim is to give all pupils the opportunity to turn their own ideas into reality using high-tech machines such as 3D printers, laser cutters or CNC milling machines. After explaining the machines to the children, we want to lure their creativity in a direction that would be impossible without these machines.

Of course, the right hardware is also needed for this. We are very grateful to the town of Gronau, which enabled us to purchase these machines as part of the introduction of technology as a subject in the upper school. We would also like to thank our support association, which provided us with laptops to control the machines and sponsored wooden boards that can be used for projects with the laser cutters.

In the first two weeks, around 50 children from years 5 to 7 signed up for the FabLab. Some of these children have now been attending for several weeks and leave our course with Christmas presents for their parents from the laser cutter or name badges from the 3D printer. There are also small gifts for friends.

The children's enthusiasm shows us that the FabLab is well received and will continue to exist in the future.
