Students Annika Jansen and Melanie Sinner had the opportunity to take part in the "Short Course Mathematical Anatomy of Quantum Theory" at the University of Twente. This course is part of the university's "Applied Mathematics Talent Program". After successfully applying, Annika and Melanie were among the 90 students from all over Germany and the Netherlands who were given this opportunity.
In 16 one-hour lectures from 19.10.23 to 22.10.23, the participants were offered a taste of mathematics at the university - including an overnight stay on the campus grounds. The lectures were taught "at an advanced university level in terms of abstraction, rigor and pace". The topics of the lectures built on each other and dealt with mathematics, physics and their application in relation to quantum theory.
We congratulate Annika and Melanie on their successful application and are delighted that they were able to take advantage of this opportunity.
