School paramedics ensure safety
As first aiders, students with first aid training - together with teachers - provide first aid to injured and ill students in our school until the arrival of the emergency medical services or their parents.
The first-aid service is organized as part of a weekly work group and supervised by Mr. Hacker. In the future, support for the training will be provided by local aid organizations. The minimum qualification is a first aid course with a duration of eight hours, which is trained within the framework of the AG.
The students provide the service as a team. They are assigned according to a duty roster and given time off during class in the event of an emergency. They are alerted via an app.
The participation of students in the first-aid service always has an educational and social dimension in addition to pure first aid. Pupils' involvement in the service promotes a sense of responsibility, personality development and a willingness to help among those involved. It also makes an important contribution to improving the social climate in the school and to presenting the school in a positive light to the outside world. Recently, make-up has also been practiced for the realistic portrayal of accidents, so that the whole subject can also be specifically practiced in a practical way.
The willingness to cooperate in the first-aid service is honored as a positive remark in the graduation certificates. The first-aid training also forms the basis of the first-aid certificate, which is required to obtain an official driver's license (e.g. class B driver's license).
