Technical paper
In the second semester of Q1, all students write a specialized paper. Exempt from this work are students who take a project course and have to provide an alternative performance there (project work, portfolio work, etc.). The subject-specific paper is an approx. 15-page scientific paper on a previously agreed topic, which is written at home. It also replaces the first written exam in the respective subject.
As a rule, students choose a subject - this must be a subject taken in writing - in which they want to write by the Christmas vacations and speak to the relevant course teacher. Following this, several consultation meetings take place in which the topic of the paper is determined and the further work steps are discussed. The students then have 6 weeks for the actual "writing phase".
