Honoring the winners of the music competition

On the last day of school before the Easter vacations, the participants received great prizes and high praise from the jury for their creative contributions. The competition was held in cooperation with the Rock'n Pop Museum Gronau by the booster club and music teacher Christoph Leusmann.

"Basically, you are all winners," Andre Mönsters, chairman of the sponsoring association, attested to the 22 contest participants. According to the laudator, all the entries submitted showed what talents lay dormant in the students of the secondary school. In addition to a self-written song, an essay, a poster, a profile, a self-choreographed dance and several cover songs were submitted as competition entries. Given the diversity of the entries, it was not easy for the jury to decide on the winners.

Fourth place in the music competition went to Theresa Scherping, Saskia Schultewolter and Charlotte Peters-Kottig with a dance they choreographed themselves to the song "Best Day of my Life" by American Authors. With an essay ("Music separates and connects") and a poster about the trumpet, Bennet Mönsters and Jannik Huesmann independently took third place. Second place was awarded to Maleen Bösing, Kyana Freiberg, Sophia Heying and Lina Niehoff for their cover version of "Cup Song" by Anna Kendrick. The winners of the competition were Sarah Kernebeck, Nele Knapheide, Emely Kottig, Mona Stange and Paula Schulze-Wext. They convinced the jury with a self-composed song, which they performed on guitar and Cajun drum. The five winners are already looking forward to their grand prize, a sightseeing flight over Gronau.
