Traditionally, the VdK social association of the Gronau local group organizes a pre-Christmas Advent celebration at the Dinkelhof in Gronau on the first weekend of Advent. After the organization's board became aware of the Euregio comprehensive school's school choir during its 10th anniversary celebrations, it contacted the choir director Mr. Schenzel a short time later and was finally able to win the choir over for its Advent celebrations. Last Saturday from 3.00 to 4.30 p.m., the EGS school choir independently performed the supporting program for over 150 participants, including the deputy mayor of the town of Gronau, Ibrahim Savci, and the chairman of the VdK district association Borken-Coesfeld, Hermann Berkemeyer. Together they sang and clapped to a mix of traditional and modern Christmas carols. At the end of the event, each child was presented with a little "Stutenkerl" as a small thank you for St. Nicholas Day.
The school choir would like to thank everyone for a wonderful, musical day and is already looking forward to the next performance.
