This was followed by a tour of the shipyard's production halls. The pupils were given lots of information about the materials used, the production processes and the organization of shipbuilding. Unfortunately, the ship currently being built was still at a very early stage. For this reason, only a few components were on display, so that the future dimensions of the ship had to be largely imagined. Nevertheless, it became clear how complex and precisely the individual work steps are planned.
Despite the limited insight into the construction progress, the tour was very informative. The employee's explanations made a good connection to the content of the technology course. Overall, the visit to Meyerwerft was informative and offered interesting insights into modern technology and industrial production.
