In 2024, we celebrated the completion of the new building and the 10th anniversary of our school with our summer party. Many visitors took advantage of the creative activities offered by the classes or had fun on various bouncy castles.
Once again this year, the students enjoyed class and level trips to Meppen (year 5), Norderney (year 7), Berlin (year 10) and Lake Garda (year 13).
On Thursday, 14.03.24, the pupils of classes 6a and 6b visited the mobile peace laboratory in Bocholt together with their class teachers. Peace, freedom, tolerance, equality - we at Euregio-Gesamtschule Epe ("School without Racism - School with Courage") also stand for teaching these and many other social values.
As every year, the Euregio comprehensive school in Gronau-Epe took part in the Kangaroo competition. Once again, around 70 pupils from various year groups took on the mathematical tasks.
On April 23, 2024, the students of the advanced course Q1 visited the Wolfgang Borchert Theater at the Münster harbor to watch the play "Woyzeck" based on the fragmentary drama by Georg Büchner, which they had previously studied in class.
At our annual regional competition in the World Robot Olympiad, one of our teams once again qualified for the German championship with a first place and took part in the German final in Passau. Couch Stefan Niemeier and his team set off by bus for an unforgettable weekend in Bavaria. The German final of the 2024 season was the tenth and largest German final ever. 136 teams took part in the competition in our four categories. The team from Euregio Comprehensive School achieved a good 25th place in their age category.
On Monday, 27.05.2024, a total of 38 pupils from Euregio Comprehensive School Gronau Epe went on an exciting day trip to the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. In the impressive ambience of the museum, our students from Ms. Bittscheidt's and Mr. Porschen's WP 9 NL courses had the unique opportunity to take their last class assignment of the school year as an oral exam. Each student presented a selected painting from the Rijksmuseum's extensive collection.
As in previous years, our pupils cleaned the stumbling blocks of Jewish families in Epe under this year's motto "One person - one stone - one fate". The pupils went to Merschstraße, Oststraße and Wilhelmstraße in small groups.
For the first time, our school was recognized as a "Digital School" by the "MINT Zukunft" initiative. This award recognizes the school's special commitment to integrating digital media into lessons.
For the 5th time, the pupils of the Euregio Comprehensive School are packing the boxes for the "Christmas in a Shoebox" campaign with great joy. "Christmas in a Shoebox"® is the most popular gift campaign worldwide.
On 29.11.2024, we held our annual pre-Christmas market. Our school was open to visitors in a festive atmosphere. Our school choir, which continues to grow, performed there for the second year in a row.
As part of the "Jugend trainiert" ("Youth trains") campaign, pupils from the fifth, sixth and seventh grades took part in an internal school long throw competition. The pupils took to the field in front of the sports hall with the aim of throwing as far as possible. Cheered on by their teachers and classmates, each pupil had several attempts to throw the ball a long distance. The three best throwers in each year group were awarded medals and certificates.
The pupils and technology teachers at our school can look forward to a great innovation: the Förderverein has purchased six new laptops and a practical laptop trolley. This generous support will make lessons even more modern and interactive.
