With a lot of foam, they cleaned the stumbling blocks of Jewish families in Epe and made the motto "One person - one stone - one fate" more visible again. The pupils went to Merschstraße, Oststraße and Wilhelmstraße in small groups.
The pupils have not only looked after the stones, but have also kept alive the memory of the suffering caused by the deportation and murder of Jewish women, men and children. The Stumbling Stones by artist Gunter Demnig have thus become a part of "living history" for our pupils, as they have become an integral part of their everyday school life. Stumbling stones make you stumble over the terrible events of our history and have become a symbol of suffering and appreciation.
