In 2023, we were finally able to move into our new school building on Gasstraße, which offers fully modernized classrooms as well as a schoolyard specially designed to meet the needs of our younger children. In addition, a Year 5 class started school directly in the new school building for the first time.
For the first time, students left us with their Abitur at the end of the summer vacation. We celebrated together with the students and teachers of the school.
After many school trips had to be canceled or postponed during the Corona period, we were able to plan normally again this year. We were pleased to be able to organize class and level trips to Meppen (year 5), Norderney (year 7), Berlin (year 10) and Lake Garda (year 13).
Our newly founded school choir not only performed at our very well-attended Vorfreudemarkt, but also in the Netherlands at the Euregio Profile Day.
Once again this year, the pupils went to Merschstraße, Oststraße and Wilhelmstraße in small groups with great joy and a great deal of naturalness. The Stumbling Stones of the Jewish families were cleaned and scrubbed with sponges and brushes. The pupils not only cleaned the stones, but also kept alive the memory of the suffering caused by the deportation and murder of Jewish women, men and children.
At our annual regional competition in the World Robot Olympiad, one of our teams qualified for the German championships for the first time by coming first, and took part in these in Freiburg.
You can also read all this on our completely redesigned homepage, which we are very pleased about.
We look forward to another exciting year in 2024 and thank you for your support and cooperation.
