From 18.03.2024 to 22.03.2024, the ninth year of EGS went on a class trip to Berlin. After a seven-hour bus journey, the class arrived at the hostel and moved straight into their rooms. The students then explored the capital in the immediate vicinity of the hostel in high spirits.
On Tuesday, the students were able to choose between various program items - a tour of the Olympic Stadium, a visit to the "Deja vu" museum or a visit to the zoo. They all agreed that every excursion was worthwhile. But the highlight for the students came in the evening - the Matrix. In this club, the students had the opportunity to party in the best of moods and under supervision.
Sightseeing and a visit to the dome of the Reichstag were on the agenda on Wednesday. We walked from the hostel through Berlin's government district. The year group even had the chance to admire various government representatives in the Bundestag. The class evening followed in the evening, with each class putting on an individual and varied program.
The guided tour of the former Stasi prison in Hohenschönhausen concluded the educational program of the class trip. Contemporary witnesses talked about what life was like in prison and during the GDR era and the pupils listened attentively and asked interested questions. At the end of the trip, the pupils had the opportunity to explore Berlin on their own once again. Their destinations included Alexanderplatz, the television tower and, of course, various shopping malls.
Around 4.30 p.m. on Friday, the ninth year arrived back in Epe and everyone involved agreed that it had been a successful class trip.
