A total of 1904 riders in 105 teams took part. They covered 309,267km and saved 48t of CO2. Our school participated again with all classes from grades 5 to 10, as well as EF and Q1.
The students of the current 6c and 8b stood out especially and reached a place on the podium in the competition of the secondary schools from Gronau. The 6c reached the 3rd place and the 8b even managed to cycle the 1st place of all classes of secondary schools from Gronau.
In a festive ceremony, the classes, each represented by two students, were presented with their prizes by the mayor, Mr. Rainer Doetkotte, in the council hall of the city of Gronau.
Class 6c, together with their class teacher Mrs. Ostendorf and the class teacher Mr. Niemeier, were delighted with a class set of Frisbees and a certificate. Class 8b was happy about a voucher for the open-air swimming pool of the city of Gronau, which was redeemed directly one week after the award ceremony, and about the challenge cup, which now has its home in the Euregio-Gesamtschule Epe for one year and may be visited.
In 2023, the students of the Euregio-Gesamtschule Epe will of course participate again in the city cycling and give everything to win the challenge cup again for our school.
The students Malte Wehner and Simon Farwick (from left) are happy in front of the building of the council hall about the won vouchers and the challenge cup, which they presented to the class on the following school day. They took the opportunity to pose with their class teacher Mrs. Twelbeck and the class teacher Mr. Bäumer with the big trophy to display it later at school.
