Since no class trip was possible in class 5 due to corona, the anticipation of both the students and the class teachers was naturally all the greater. On Monday morning we started shortly after half past nine with the bus in the direction of Emden. From there, we took the ferry to Borkum, to the youth hostel "Am Wattenmeer".
Once there, we moved into our rooms and got settled in. Afterwards everyone got a bicycle for the stay. The students spent the rest of the day exploring the youth hostel.
The next days began at 6 a.m. each day. After getting up and having breakfast together, the four classes started their individual daily program: whether climbing, a bike tour, a visit to the swimming pool or the city center, walking on the beach and in the dunes or a mudflat hike - there was something for everyone. In addition, the students also had time to make further contacts in the youth hostel.
Time flew by and suddenly it was already Thursday afternoon. After the bikes had been returned, a joint campfire with stick bread once again crowned the stay. Even though the weather made sure that one or the other stick bread got wet, the time could be used to talk about the experiences made and to exchange ideas.
On Friday morning, after breakfast, it was unfortunately time to head back to the ferry. On the ferry, the students could once again enjoy the view from the deck. Exhausted but happy, all the students finally reached home again and were welcomed by their refreshed and happy loved ones.
A big thank you once again to all involved for the smooth and pleasant course of the class trip!
