Learning in a different way...

Many ideas and wishes that will become reality in the new schoolyard have been suggested by the children. The focus was not only on a break design for the morning breaks, but also during the lunch break, the students should be able to use many offers, such as the green classroom. There is a large selection - in addition to a climbing frame, for example, there are basketball hoops, a goal wall and a large area for playing soccer. Seating invites students to chat and relax.

In February 2022, the students of the fifth, sixth and seventh grades will move into the new building of the Euregio Comprehensive School on Gaststraße. In addition to the inviting schoolyard, there is also a lot to discover in the building. On the first floor, where the fifth graders will be housed, there is a large self-study center, quiet and meditation rooms, and reading rooms to promote reading. Even a "Snoezelen room" has been thought of. In addition to the modern classrooms, there are smaller rooms for differentiation, which make it possible for students to learn at their own pace. A spacious and bright cafeteria and a school-run kiosk round out the learning and living space, so that the school day is as varied as possible.

The sixth and seventh graders will be housed on the two upper floors. The newly equipped learning kitchen, the technology rooms and the science rooms are also located there. All of the rooms are equipped with modern technology such as tablets. Sufficient space has also been provided for the work groups, such as the robotics and gardening groups. All the plans are aimed at providing practical and varied lessons.

When the school moves into the new building in a year's time, the containers on Riekenhofweg will also be abandoned. The students housed there will return to the Gildehauser Damm site, where grades 8 to 13 will be accommodated. Here, too, the conditions will be adapted to the older student body so that optimal learning conditions will be available for all grades.
