On Thursday, December 16, 2017, the students of the elective subject Arbeitslehre-Technik in year seven received an impression of studying technology at TU Dortmund University. After a brief welcome at the Chair of Engineering Didactics, which is primarily concerned with teaching and learning research in work education and technology didactics, the students were given an insight into the so-called "Maker Space", which they were able to explore with great enthusiasm. In addition to the many possibilities of 3D printing, topics such as robot programming, virtual reality and, of course, studying at the university were also addressed here. Before heading to the university's own workshop, everyone received souvenirs from the 3D printer. In the workshop, the children were then able to experience the practical aspects of studying by independently making a pencil holder out of Plexiglas. With great enthusiasm and many new impressions in their luggage, the excursion ended in the afternoon, back at the Euregio comprehensive school in Epe.
